Business Visa from Nigeria to Tonga Description

  • Nigerians traveling to Tonga for business must first secure a business visa.
  • Unlike other Non-Tourist Visas, the Tonga business visa is issued for at least a month up to 1 year— for whole five years at a time.
  • You will need to provide an invitation letter from the Tongan company you will be visiting.
  • This letter will also contain their detailed address, accompanied with the date and actual purpose of your trip.
  • If the intention is to attend a meeting or seminar, confirmation/invitation from the conference organizer/institution is required.
  • If you are employed, you will have to present a certificate from your employer stating or allowing your business travel.
  • Proof of sufficient funds to cover the costs of stay (e.g. bank statement for 2 recent months) is required.
  • Self-employed people may need to submit proof of business registration.
  • You cannot be gainfully employed while you are in the country with this visa.
  • It must be made clear whether your trip will be sponsored by the employer or the local company.
  • Proof of payment of visa application fee should be submitted.
  • In summary, these are what you’ll be needing for your Tonga business visa application:
    • Original, signed passport valid for 6 months beyond the stay in Tonga, with at least one blank passport page available for a Tonga visa stamp.
    • One properly completed Tonga visa application form per applicant, including the signed declaration page.
    • Two recent 2 x 2 passport type photographs, in color, front view and with a plain/white background.
    • OR - you can upload a photo when you place your order online, instead of providing physical passport photos.
    • Two character references from two individuals who have known the applicant for a significant period of time (referee's full contact details must be provided and will be verified by the visa officer).
    • Official invitation from the Ministry of Labour, Commerce & Industries (MLCI).
    • Computer generated flight itinerary from the airline or travel agency or copy of airline tickets.
    • A National Police Clearance issued in the past 3 months.
    • A medical report (in accordance with prescribed Tonga Health Form) issued within past 6 months by a medical practitioner approved by Tonga immigration.

  • If the applicant is a minor, the parents/legal guardians have to sign the form.
