Murtala Muhammed Way, Iddo, Lagos Island
Lagos Terminus, Iddo.
A Terminus of commuter and long distance trains, this is the main railway station of the city of Lagos. If you plan on journeying by rail to any place in the state, or even the country, this is your starting point.
This is a very safe location.
Before heading to Lagos Terminus, Iddo, here are some helpful things to take along with you:
Operated by the Nigerian Railway Corporation, this station is located in front of Carter Bridge and by the Lagos Lagoon. It has a large two-floor terminal building with a train shed located outside the station platforms. It has 5 platforms, 8 tracks and it is lined along Lagos-Ibadan-Kaduna direction.
Struggling to put up a colorful face, it has a worn out look that is seen among government public buildings. Despite the 'NO Hawking' signs, it is populated with hawkers and vendors who sell their wares to travelers. The government has added a freight of new and fast trains in hopes of revamping the railway sector. However, these are only available on weekdays while other trains make scheduled departures in specific weekdays. There is a parking lot available, although it comes with a fee.
