History of National Christian Center

National Christian Center was built in 2005. It is notable as the symbol of unity of Christendom in Nigeria.

Built by Christian Association of Nigeria in 2005.

One of the largest church centers in Abuja, the project was initially in comatose for 16 years before the CAN raised funds to reactivate its completion in 2004 and in a year, it was completed and dedicated by the Anglican Primate of Nigeria.

Best Features

It is the most significant neighboring structure to the Central Bank of Nigeria Headquarters and makes up an imposing but accommodating edifice in the Abuja skyline.

Most common visitors

The center displays remarkable work of architecture and excellent work of craftsmanship. It was built in a neo-gothic style and has several pivoted arches which lead to the altar.

The altar itself is centrally placed in the church and makes a complete rotation every 10 minutes. A pipe organ is fitted to the right wing of the church, close to which sits the choir. Stained glass windows which employ a simple but attractive mix of yellow, green and red colors can be seen all around the church.
