Lagos University Teaching Hospital, simply known as LUTH, is a government-owned public hospital in Lagos State Nigeria. It was established in 1961 by the government to improve the standard of the Lagos state health sector. Training medical staff and students was the main reason the government tendered for the establishment of the hospital.

 

Since its establishment, the Lagos State government have witnessed a great turnaround in the quality of medical services rendered in the state. LUTH started with a 330-bed capacity but has seen grown to accommodate 761 beds and this has testified to the remarkable growth of the hospital.
