Trinidad and Tobago issues this visa to individuals who intend to travel for recreation, vacation and sight-seeing purposes. If you want to visit friends or relatives, attend ceremonies or festivals then you are also eligible for this visa. Two copies of the application form signed by the applicant along with 2 recent passport photographs are required. For those travelling for visitations, an invitation letter from the host in Trinidad and Tobago is required. The letter should state the host’s immigration status, the name, address and contact details also. The invitation must be official and those sent via email will not be accepted. Medical certificate showing that the applicant is free from contagious illnesses should be provided. A refundable payment of 560,000 Naira should be made as Security deposit to any Diamond bank. The applicant can request for a refund on the return to Nigeria. It takes a week to process the request and only the applicant can request and collect the refund. The Consul will give the applicant a letter of authorization to make the security bond deposit. After the deposit, the applicant is to return the slip in exchange for a receipt. All applications are to be done in person. Pay-slip or bank statement for three months before the application date is required. The originals plus two copies of all required documents are to be submitted. Visa can be extended for a maximum of 1 year from the entry date into Trinidad and Tobago. If you overstay your visa, it will be difficult to re-enter the country.

Business Visa from Nigeria to Trinidad and Tobago

Individuals who are travelling for the purpose of conducting businesses, signing and negotiating contracts can apply for this visa. A Trinidad and Tobago visa is valid for 180 days but the individual must not stay for longer than 90 days. It costs 4,000 Naira (non-refundable) for a visa into the country. However, a deposit of 560,000 Naira (refundable) must be made before visa can be processed. The Consul accepts Diamond bank drafts payable to Trinidad and Tobago High Commission. Applicants are to submit a letter from the host company in Trinidad and Tobago detailing the exact purpose of visit, duration of stay, and contact details of the company. Travelling medical practitioners are to present an original medical qualification certificate issued by the Medical and Dental Board of Nigeria. Submission of applications can be done at Trinidad and Tobago embassy in Abuja within the hours of 10 am - 3 pm on Mondays to Fridays. Employed applicants are to present an introduction letter from their employer. It should carry information such as the position and salary of the applicant. For the self-employed, a proof of business registration from the CAC (corporate affairs commission) in Nigeria should be submitted. The financial statement of the applicant not older than three months must be presented. If the applicant does not have enough money as decided by the Consul, a visa will not be granted. All forms are to be printed on both pages. Extension of visas can be done by applying to the Chief Immigration Officer in Trinidad and Tobago. Individuals are advised to either apply for an extension of visa or leave Trinidad and Tobago before their visa expires.

Student visa is for persons who want to study in Trinidad and Tobago. For individuals who intend to study at the University of Southern Trinidad, the Minister of Education in Nigeria should issue a letter stating that the individual’s intended course of study is not available in Nigeria. All applicants are to submit an original copy of their transcript, showing results of previous degrees, whether high school or university, earned. Applications are to be submitted in person to the Trinidad and Tobago office at Abuja. Letter of acceptance from the institution in Trinidad and Tobago is required. The parent/sponsor of the student is expected to present a bank statement not older than 3 months. The bank statement should show that there is sufficient funds for the duration of study. A receipt of the non-refundable visa fee of N4,000 and complete tuition fee should be presented along with other documents. Before travelling to Trinidad and Tobago, it is important to ensure that your passport is valid for the duration of your course of study. The sum of Naira 560,000 must be paid during the visa application process. This will serve as a security bond deposit which will be refunded when the visitor returns to Nigeria. Security Bond Deposit should be paid at any Diamond Bank in Nigeria. If it is made in Trinidad and Tobago, the original document showing payments should be submitted. Intending students must sort out their accommodation and have documents confirming it before they can be granted a visa. Applications should be submitted at least 6 weeks from the intended travel date.
